Just kanna arrow to be the chairman of SRC 2009... This is a recreation club in my company which in charge of organizing company events such as team bonding, family day, social visit, tour, etc etc etc... Well, JJ always believe that staff who work hard deserve to play hard too...

When I just enter the company, my colleagues has already told me that new staff will definitely be arrow to be the committee of SRC... So on this very day, I was "short listed" by my GM to be the volunteer for JJ Chemical. Since there's no way to escape, I guess i just have to accept it...

But never would I ever imagine that the rest of the volunteers from the rest of the JJ companies were all female... Yup, U didnt read wrongly and I didnt type wrongly either... I'm the only guy in the committee for 2009. Therefore, without any competition, I am awarded the Chairman position. A position I rather not have... Why? Because when U are the chairman, U will always be the first to get left right up down from those nasty aunties in the company who complains about almost every single thing that U can ever imagine...

Haiz... A man still gotta do what a man gotta do... At least my committee has a few cute faces... Consolation maybe... lol...

Everyone is celebrating this day but does anyone really know about the origin of Valentine? History time!!! Hahahaha... No worries, I'll make it simple...

The day was orginally a pagan festival that was renamed after 2 early christian Martyrs & Valentine. The day then become associated was romance love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the high middle ages, when the traditional courtly love flourished.

Alright enough of these craps... Who cares anyway... lol... As long as everyone in this world find their Mr or Mrs Right, the world will become a lovely place...

Had a mini CNY celebration with our colleagues today. Its a company event for the whole group. Each company under the group gets a "YuSheng" and a red packet containing 4 numbers. Mass lou hei session, followed by buffet lunch. Hope it brings good fortune.

Today is 正月初七， also know as 人日...
Meaning that its the Birthday of everyone!!!

Just had a lou hei session with my family... A way to seek blessing for everyone, all year round. Its a practise happening only in Singapore & Malaysia. A plate of colourful radish shredded, added with peanuts, oil, koropok, sweet & sour sauce and raw fish. Everyone will start tossing the mixed as high as possible to signify good fortune and good prosperity.

Everywhere across the horizon are in recession now, just hope that the economy pick up real fast and everything can go back to the good old times... Hope that my company will have good business as usual and we can have our fat fat bonus... Hehe...Yup I know, abit dreaming at this crisis period... But who knows, maybe the market happen to turn around real fast... Haha... Keeping my finger crossed...

First day of a brand new year...

Its 7am in the morning now, didnt sleep a wink last night. Its a chinese tradition for children to stay awake after the CNY reunion dinner till the morning of the first day of chinese new year to seek blessing and good health for their parents. Been doing it for years, just hope that Daddy & Mummy will be healthy forever!!!

Last day of the year of Rat... Finally finish all the spring cleaning task and just had my reunion dinner with my family. What's more to ask for than a family being together happily.

Wow... People getting, pay-cut or retrench, company getting into financial difficulty, banks around the world are going bankrupt... The economy is really getting from bad to worst... What a way to expect the arrival of the Ox year...

Where got mood to party for the festive? Had just received news that my company is also going into recession rescue status... Everything also must cut cost... All unneccessary expense kanna CUT, transport allowance kanna CUT and worst of all, pay adjustment FREEZE with possibility of having NOT having our 13th month bonus for 2009... Shit!!!

Time to buckle up and get ready for the roller coaster ride...

Went to Korat first followed by spending the last 2 nites in bangkok. Visited a couple of places, such as shopping mall, temple, nite market & nite spots. What I like most in thailand was their pace of life and their friendliness towards one another. It jus make u feel like home! lol...

Since we are having a long holiday during Xmas and New Year, I've decided to make full use of it... I will carry on with my holiday plans!!! Hahaha... Thailand, here I come!!! lol... Really need a break, stress out with work...

Compared the prices amoug AirAsia, Tiger Airways & Jet Star, and after much thinking, everything was finally set... 20th-26th, I'm going for a week!!! Yeah!!! Backpacking trip alone was never as exciting before... Hahaha... No choice but to go alone... Last minute decision thus the rest wont be able to make it... Anyway, looking forward to it...  A great way to test my survivng skill and my newly learn language... Wahahahaha..

Like many other organization, we were informed that we will have to take 2 days of enforce leave on the 26th Dec and 2nd Jan. Its across the company board. Its a way to cut operational cost.

Well, was just wondering, is the economy really that bad or its just the market over reacting to the slump... The real impact aint here yet... Probably after 1Q...

Attended our SRC year end party today... Its a JJ-Group event thus a mixed of colleagues from different divison. Well, a handful was the party lot, always crazy and tuning the crowds but the rest are rather subdue... Maybe older folks just dont have the energy to party after a day of work... lol...

Food served was pretty okay and we brought some wines down to have a mini drinking session amoug our own chemical group. My boss, who only drank a small glass, was as red as an apple!!! Hahaha...

Won myself a Sony Cybershot DSC W110 camera during the lucky draw. Its the 3rd prize for the nite... Hahaha... Lucky me... I was joking with my colleagues earlier on about winning the camera then I dont have to buy one, and I really won!!! Yeah!

Suppose to be heading for Thailand for a short holiday... Been working my ass out for the last couple of months and was looking forward to today... Thanks to all those political buggers hogging the Suvarnabhumi Airport... Stupid closure, causing flight cancellation and there goes my holiday plans!!!

2nd day of my ICT and I'm being "invited" to attend the 40th RSAF Anniversary celebration at Sentosa, Tanjong Beach... Hey man, I'm just a NSMen... Why cant they just let me have the day off...

Dunno wats so wrong with the morning traffic today... So many traffic accidents all across the island... Causing long tailback along the expressway and massive jams along neighbourhood roads... Sometimes, you just cant help but think why poeple have to drive so recklessly during peak hours... So wat if u speed... The most is saving a few mins of time... But comparing it to the risk at stake... Its simply not worth it...

Took me over an hour, coming to two just to get to Sentosa... Objective being just to show face, take attendance and then "disappear..." Wonderful isnt it??? lol...
 

Damn... Serving my 2weeks ICT starting tomorrow...

From my humble opinion, its such a waste of time... Going back for 10 working days just to slack, slack and slack... So bored... Just have to take it as a holiday lor... Anyway they are paying me well... Lol...
